For those waiting to hear the latest updates on the project, I apologize for not posting sooner!

First of all, everyone here in the Water Solutions for Life team have to congratulate Temple City High School on their successful benefit concert! In a very short window of time, they were able to pull together a 4 hour event that featured 6 AMAZING local talents. We had a great time, and are so thankful to event coordinators Veronica and Jane for doing this.

Second, according to the latest estimate, about 20,000 cans and bottles were collected from the Pasadena Marathon route. In addition, the truckloads of leftover fruit was donated to the Union Rescue Mission. We thank all the volunteers from John Muir High, Temple City High, Gabrielino High, Community without Walls, and many other individuals who braved the rain and wind so that more people can be provided with LifeStraws; it is your willingness to volunteer you time and your heartfelt support that makes this project possible.

And the last piece of good news is, our team representatives Kathleen, April, Daniella, Alice T and Alice P presented this project to the Edison Challenge Environmental Competition (hosted by SC Edison and USC), and we have to thank them for giving us first place!

However, the LifeStraw Challenge definitely does not end here! Please bring your cans and bottles to the Earth Day festivals at the LA Sanitation District (April 19th) and Pasadena (April 25th) and join the growing network of schools who are banding together for clean water!
